Carolyn Tapia

Obituary of Carolyn Jean Tapia

Carolyn Jean Tapia passed away on the evening of Tuesday April 16, 2019 at Thedacare Medical Center in Berlin, Wisconsin. She was born in Red Oak, Iowa on April 8 1944 to Ralf L. Roof and Angeline E. (Egge) Roof. She was one of 4 children; she completed 8 years of school before setting off on a lifetime of adventure. She was the mother of 3 boys. Her oldest, Kelly Gordan Duncan (KS) proceeded her in death. She is survived by her 2 sons Harold Jerome Pocowatchit (OK) and Arnoldo Amadeo Tapia Jr.(TX) along with her partner Joseph Michael Klenke (WI). There are many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Also surviving Carolyn is her sister Georgia Bell (IA), her half-sister Jackie Ann Martino (KS), and her adopted sister Susan Adams (GA). Her family was like that of a quilter, all the patches held together by the stitches of love. Carolyn made Wautoma, Wisconsin her home for the last 34 years of her life. Her flowers and home were her passion. She had a flare for interior decorating and was consulted by many people who wanted something extra. She had many occupations throughout the years with companies like Boeing, Weyerhaeuser, and retired from Shelmet Precision Casting. She spent time as a florist, ran a ceramics shop, was a salesperson with Home Interiors, and helped out on family farms; driving trucks as well as sorting & loading potatoes. Other ceramic shop owners would bring her pieces just so she could paint the eyes, which Carolyn believed provided the character and soul of everything. Most people only scratched the surface when getting to know this feisty and colorful woman. It took years to peel back all the layers and understand who Carolyn Jean Tapia really was. Carolyn requested a party not a funeral. To honor Carolyn’s wishes a Celebration of Life is to be held in August or September and will be announced on her Facebook page. The Stahl Funeral Services assisted the family with arrangements. To share your condolences or a message with Carolyn’s family please visit, www.stahlfuneralhome.com
