Obituary of Margaret J. Flanagan

Margaret J. Flanagan, age 78, of Redgranited, passed away peacefully after a long battle with pancreatic cancer on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Juliette Manor in Berlin.  She was born January 1941 in Wisconsin, the daughter of Joseph and Theresa Basel. She married Dennis "John" Flanagan on December 19, 1973.

Margaret was employed with the Oshkosh Area School District for many years teaching Physical Education.  She moved to Redgranited in 1988.  She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Poy Sippi for many years.  She enjoyed readiing, playing computer games, bird watching off the back deck and playing Scrabble with John.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis "John" Flanagan, her step-children, Patti (Doug) Nichols, Denise (Jim) Biesinger, Joe (Stephanie) Flanagan; her grandchildren, Mike (Wendy) Nichols, Stacey (Johnny) Cheng, Caitlyn (Pete) Talbert, Lauren Biesinger (Ryan), Katie Boone, Mason Boone and Lauren Immel; her siblings, Kenneth (Mary) Basel, Patricia Basel, Jeannie (Bob) Bodine, Carol (Ben) Garcia; she is further survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and special friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Theresa Basel, siblings, Barbara Malone, Garald Basel and Tommy Basel.

The family would like to give a special thank you  to the following: Dusty Goff, Kathy Kaminske, Tommy Lowrie, for the care they gave to Margaret and to help lighten the load around the house and care for John; The staff at Aurora Hospital in Oshkosh, ICU and Lonbardi Cancer Center for thier care, understanding and compassion; The staff at Juliette Manor in Berlin for making her final days peaceful and comfortable.  Colleen Mrotzek her niece, friend and (younger sister) for her care compassion and friendship which Margaret valued so much.
